Description

This module explores the principles of Industry 4.0 applied to manufacturing enterprises. Students will develop the ability to identify and evaluate the key concepts and impacts of Industry 4.0 including big data, edge and cloud computing, digital twins, cyber-physical systems and the internet of things. Assessment will include evaluation of a real-life case study, the identification and exploration of an existing enterprise where the introduction of Industry 4.0 concepts could be beneficial, and the development and qualification of a functioning prototype.
